“If there is a country that knows how to defend itself, it is Israel. The Iron Dome missile defense system provides air defence. Today, with Defense Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, we saw how it works,” said Katalin Novák in a Facebook post, praising the defence cooperation between Israel and Hungary: „In recent years, defense cooperation between our countries has been strengthened thanks to the armed forces development program, and we plan to work even more closely together in the coming period,” the president said in her post, which also included several photos.
At the press conference, Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky also recalled that the delegation met Hungarian Holocaust survivors at the Yad Vashem memorial center, which was „very moving and touching to see how deeply the survivors guard their Hungarian identity.”
