Hungary is capable of providing assistance to all those in need, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Thursday in Kisvárda during an inspection of the Hungarian authorities and facilities hosting refugees from the war in Ukraine.
In a video posted on his social networking site on Thursday evening, the Prime Minister said that he expects the number of refugees arriving in Hungary to exceed 450,000 today. He and Interior Minister Sándor Pintér toured the various facilities, the police and disaster management services playing a key role in caring for refugees.
According to the Prime Minister, coordination is working well.
„We are able to accommodate and care for a larger number of refugees than we are now in a coordinated way. I would also like to thank our police and the emergency services.”
– he said.
Orbán also mentioned that they visited the hospital in Kisvárda, a location already known since during the Crimean war it was also designated for the treatment of the wounded. Today, like then, if sick refugees arrive, they will be treated in this hospital. The staff there have also been trained to be able to treat more people than at present.
„There are many refugees and many children around Kisvárda. I want to thank the people of Kisvárda who have such a big heart and have housed so many children in the city.
I see that in the coming weeks we will be able to continue to help all those in need.”
– Viktor Orbán said in a video posted on his Facebook page.
